Three triads and the Arch of MeasureTwelve qualities of the spirit
A person has many qualities. These twelve were chosen as generative: the others — patience, honesty, humility, compassion, discipline — can be derived from their combinations. The source itself calls each of them a foundation or a key; each has a counterweight: courage without co-measurement is recklessness, love without equilibrium is rescuing.
This page is at the level of the Practicum (after Day 15 of the course). If you are on the first turn of the 30 Days — the names of the qualities are here: a spoiler.

By what right — twelve
There is no canonical list — and that is the Teaching's position
The books of Living Ethics contain no closed list of “principal qualities”: qualities are mentioned by the dozen, in different books and combinations. This is the source's method, not carelessness: a living consciousness cannot be exhausted by a list. Any fixed set is a methodological selection, and no one can claim it as canon. Our selection was made by explicit criteria, each of which can be checked against the open texts.
The model is open to refutation
It will be extended or revised if a critic presents a quality that is at once: named a foundation or a key in the source — with a reference; not derivable from the twelve by the inclusion map; and trainable through observable behaviour within a 90-day horizon. Proposals are accepted openly. The model is an entrance hall, not a temple: from Day 15 everyone gets a direct way to the source.
The number twelve is methodological: four triples give complete coverage, the pedagogical capacity of a 30-day spiral (each quality twice) and a fit into the yearly ring (four qualities a year — three years for the Great Circle). The number makes no sacred claims.
