Who we are and what we stand onAbout the project: principles, safeguards, money
“Fire of Ethics” is an open protocol for practising the qualities of character. Not an organisation with a centre, a cash desk and a leader, but a method you can test against your own day, copy freely and lead yourself. Everything written here can be verified.
Honestly about the source
The method draws on a Russian ethical tradition with a century of history. In the course its name is spoken on Day 15 — not out of cunning, but out of respect for experience: first try, then name; that is how the source itself is built. The name is not hidden — it is deferred. If you want to know right away — here it is, behind one deliberate click.
Show the name of the source (this is the Day 15 spoiler)
Living Ethics (Agni Yoga) — the books recorded by Helena Roerich in the 1920s–1930s, and her letters. Since 1 January 2026 the texts are in the public domain and open to everyone: agniyoga.org. The course's twelve daily trials are twelve qualities of the spirit that the Teaching itself calls key: striving, devotion, solemnity; love, selflessness, gratitude; equilibrium, courage, constancy; containment, co-measurement, joy.
What we take from the source: direction and meaning — the “what” and the “why”. What we add ourselves and always mark as such: the mechanics of habit formation from modern evidence-based practice — the “how exactly”. The five floors of depth and the model of twelve qualities are the project's working constructions, not the structure of the source; we say so plainly.
We work with texts, not with organisations: we are grateful to everyone who preserves the Roerichs' heritage; we do not enter the disputes of societies and centres; we quote from open sources.
What we never do
Every point is a lesson learned from other people's wrecks. This is not a declaration but a construction: they cannot be broken without destroying the project.
No guru
If in three years there is one bright leader at the centre of the project — that is failure, not success. Leaders are keepers of rhythm and safety; no “levels of spirituality”, initiations or “seniors”.
No fee for the practice
The sources are free forever; the course, the circles, the Wheel, the materials — free at every level. No paid “advanced levels”, no membership dues, no paid access to people.
No pressure
Leaving freely is a respected result at any step. The right to silence. No reminders of “just a little more”, no ratings, no comparing participants.
No promises of miracles
Neither wealth nor health nor superpowers nor “rapid spiritual growth”. We measure behaviour and publish the data — including what did not work.
No polemics with religions
Work in a parallel cultural field, the secular language of ethics and culture. The practice does not interfere with believers and demands no belief from sceptics.
No MLM and no referrals
No “bring a friend”, no bonuses, no percentages. The only advertising people believe is the changed behaviour of someone who has been through 30 days.
Boris Ivanashchenko — founder and leader of the first cohort
My name is Boris Ivanashchenko. I am forty-four. I have two daughters, fourteen and ten. I was married for fifteen years, and on 17 September 2025 my wife died. I am not writing this to ask for sympathy, but because this project grew out of what I went through and am still going through: a house that fell quiet; girls who need a father, not a man holding on with his last strength; a morning when you have to get up and be even while everything inside is shaking. Everything written here about the pause, about rhythm, about the minimum for a hard day is not theory. It is what held me when there was nothing to hold on to.
My father raised me from childhood in Living Ethics. He was a man of fire: Agni Yoga, Christianity, Buddhism — for him these were not three shelves in a cupboard but one road, which he walked sincerely and to the end. I grew up with books that carried his notes in the margins, and with questions that had no simple answers. In my youth I, like many, pushed it aside: work, career, family. But the qualities my father spoke of did not go anywhere. They waited for me to grow up to them.
By profession I manage large IT projects: dozens of people, deadlines, budgets, risks. That work taught me the main thing this course stands on: you cannot improve what you do not measure, and you cannot walk a path that has no daily minimum. All my adult life I have deliberately worked on my sagging qualities by the wheel of balance: I look honestly at where I am weak, take one quality and train it in an ordinary day — in meetings, in traffic jams, at dinner with my children. Not because I am strong. Because I know what it is to be weak in the places where weakness costs dearly.
I am not a guru, not a coach and not a “life mentor”. I am a participant in the practice just like you, only one who started earlier and has more bruises. I do not promise you enlightenment, wealth or happiness. I promise an honest protocol, tested on myself in the hardest year of my life, and people beside you in front of whom you do not have to pretend.
If this project is needed by even one person whose day is falling apart right now, it is already justified. I know what it is like when things fall apart. And I know that a pause, three lines in the evening and one small deed for another really do hold. Check for yourself. I will be near.

“Is this a cult?”
The right question — always ask it, and not only of us.
Check for yourself by the signs: you can leave on any day without explanations; we collect no money at all; there is no guru — there are open texts a century old in the public domain; you may stay silent, that is full participation; all materials are entirely public. A cult is built exactly the other way round on every point.
Money: transparent from the first coin
Now
The pilot cohort: no collections at all. The domain and hosting are paid for personally. Your honest feedback and measurements are the only “payment”. Until there is a legal entity and a public report, there is no other people's money in the project — that is a safety rule.
As it grows
A non-profit organisation with voluntary donations and open accounts: a public table of income and expenses, a one-page annual report, two signatories, a reserve. A gift — only after value has been received, never as a condition. Paid roles — from gifts and grants, publicly, with no percentage from the cohort. Participation stays free at every level.
A formula for doubts: if a financial practice would be awkward to write on the home page — we don't have it. More →
Licence
The project's texts and marks are distributed under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0: freely, with attribution, without commercial use. Forks and adaptations are welcome — the core (experience before the name, twelve qualities, the Common Good) is unchanged, the shell is local.
Format
A practice club, not an educational organisation: no curricula, assessments, certificates or service contracts. Personal data — the minimum, only what you enter yourself; deleted on request.
